I truly can not say enough wonderful things about The Kester Homestead and Mackenzie and Blaine. We got married there in 2018 and it was one of our very best decisions. We had thought about eloping, but after walking the grounds and meeting them, we knew it was the perfect fit and we are so glad we went that route.

Mackenzie was our planner and designer and she was such a blessing in our lives. She is sweet, conscientious, and diplomatic...all the things that are so important when dealing with the many personalities that come along with a wedding. I had full faith that our day would be beautiful and creative and unique. It was all of those things and more! Several of our wedding guests have told us that it was their favorite wedding they have ever been to, which has been so fun to hear.

All that to say you should definitely book The Homestead. It is amazing and Mackenzie and Blaine have the very best hearts and are a joy to work with.

On our first visit to The Kester Homestead property, we knew it was the place we had been searching for. We got married in October 2018, and it was important to us that our guests felt as though we had invited them into our home to celebrate. Mackenzie and Blaine embodied that spirit from the beginning and pulled all the pieces of our vision together to make their space our home for the weekend. Mackenzie guided us through the planning process, helping us to prioritize ideas and find a great team of vendors who all invested in bringing our day together. We booked the full property for the weekend with the intention of having our friends and family close by, but it proved more valuable to us than we had anticipated by affording time for us to soak in the morning of together. All the small details coordinated and completed the day-of by the team were beyond our expectations and made each piece of our wedding feel magical. Our friends and family still compliment our celebration at The Kester Homestead as one of the most unique weddings they have attended. We made an enduring connection with these grounds and the buildings on it, thanks to Mackenzie and Blaine’s commitment to opening their place for others to create lifelong memories.

The Kester Homestead was everything we wanted and thought we’d never have. In searching for venues, I was looking throughout the Hudson Valley at beautiful places thinking ‘I wish something like this existed in Upstate, NY’ - enter The Kester Homestead. Mackenzie and Blaine were unbelievable to work with. They have a beautiful heart for hospitality as well as mad skills as artists. Together with their team, every event hosted at their home and property is spectacular. As a filmmaker in the wedding industry myself, I didn’t want to invest in a venue that treated every wedding like ‘just another for the books.’ Mackenzie spent time getting to know us, hearing all our desires for the wedding, and constantly exceeded our expectations. The Kester Homestead has become such a special place to us and I love every opportunity I have to go back. Finally, if you’re on the fence about whether you should rent out just the grounds or spend the full weekend on the property- choose the weekend. When your sipping drinks by the pool with all your favorite people the night before the ‘I do’s’ the investment will be worth it.

The team at The Kester Homestead made our wedding an absolute dream. There is no way we could have thought of or created all the final touches, detailed beauty, and overall sparkling atmosphere without Mackenzie, Emma, Blaine, and team. Emma was always right there when we needed her throughout the day and made us feel like royalty. We left the weekend floating on air, and carried that mood right on into these first few months of marriage. Our guests all commented how idyllic and unique the setting was for a wedding, which unlike anything they had attended before.

Staying at The Homestead was a perfect way to round out the weekend and really feel the beauty surrounding us as we took that final big step together. I only wish we could have stayed longer and somehow made our wedding day last forever.
